School Attendance
School Attendance
Attendance is important
Good attendance is extremely important in receiving a good education. But if your child is ill, being at school may not be in their best interest. When should your child not be in school? If your child has any of the following signs or symptoms, they should not attend school:
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Fever (temp over 100 F)
Undiagnosed and/or untreated rash such as ringworm
Red, irritated, draining eye(s), which might be conjunctivitis
These symptoms may indicate a contagious illness. If your child develops any of these symptoms while in school, we will have to contact you to pick up your child.
Some children have chronic medical conditions that may exhibit some of these symptoms. If this applies to your child, please provide the school with medical documentaion (from your child's doctor) letting the school know how to handle these situations.
Students who become ill must go to the Nurse's office. If the Nurse approves, the student may receive a 'home ill' form. Then the nurse will call for a ride home. Students are not to call home for early dismissals without approval from the Nurse or an administrator. Violation of this policy will result in appropriate disciplinary action.
