Our goal is to provide quality care to all student athletes in the Central Greene School District and if necessary to be a resource to help you find the care that you need. We aim to keep student athletes safe, healthy, and participating in sport.
What is an athletic trainer?
An athletic trainer is a healthcare professional who is specifically trained to provide care to the physically active. In addition to the national requirement to pass a certification exam, in the state of Pennsylvania, all athletic trainers must hold a license to practice through the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine. There are 6 core areas athletic trainers are trained in:
Health and Wellness Prevention
Injury and illness evaluation and diagnosis
Immediate care of injury
Rehabilitation and reconditioning
Organization administration
Professional responsibility
As athletic trainers, we are trained and qualified to recognize and treat many different conditions. After we know what the injury or illness is, we can either provide you care at the school that will help you recover, or work closely with you and your family to find you the care you need if other healthcare providers can better assist you. We are here for you and want to help you get the care that you need and want.
