Mr. William Ankrom, MS, LAT, ATC

Athletic Trainer

Mr. Ankrom is a Certified Athletic Trainer for CGSD.  Mr. Ankrom has been working as an Athletic Trainer for over 30 years.  

He was recently an Assistant Professor/ Clinical Education Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh in the MS in Athletic Training Program for the past 10 years. He is also employed through UPMC Sports Medicine as a per diem athletic trainer and has worked for UPMC Sports Medicine since 1994.  His educational path includes a BS in Athletic Training from California University (Penn West) of PA and a Masters of Science in Sports Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh.  He is Concussion Wise Instructor and also a Stop the Bleed Instructor.  He has served on many boards and organizations within the profession, attending local, state, regional and national educational conferences regularly.  

At CGSD, he has goals of improving the overall health and safety model for CGSD for all student athletes, with a patient centered approach to care.  Improvements in access to athletic healthcare, through community and provider relationships are a priority.   He is excited to offer the opportunity for 9th-12th grade students to job shadow in the future who may have a future interest in Sports Medicine related fields.
